9 Myths About Women's Breasts

## Both breasts should be the same size Quite the opposite. In 44 % of women, one [breast](https://ul.orna.me/KOge/librarydisease?id=131) is smaller than the other. And when it comes to the shape and size of the nipples, identical breasts are hard to find. ## There can only be two nipples This is most often the case. But about 1 % of women and 2 % of men have more than two nipples. And they are not necessarily located on the breasts. Most often "extra nipples" are found on the front part of the torso from the shoulders to the feet, but in rare cases can grow even on the forehead or heel. They are generally smaller in size than the main pair. ## Hair around the nipples is a sign of health problems Not really. ===Single hairs around the nipple in women are normal. However, if there are a lot of hairs that are noticeable and stiff it might be a sign of a hormonal imbalance. > If the hair embarrasses you, gently remove it with tweezers. Most importantly, don't shave as new ones can grow harder and more noticeable. In addition, there is a risk of damaging the nipple by shaving. ## Feeding a baby ruins the shape of the breast Breasts sag due to changes in a woman's weight and increase in size during pregnancy and lactation. After that, the shape depends on the elasticity of tissues, which is affected by the age of the woman, heredity, and lifestyle habits such as smoking. So it is quite realistic to keep breast size the same after childbirth. ## Nipple discharge is normal It is only normal in the last months of pregnancy, in the process of breastfeeding, and the first year after its completion. In all other periods of a woman's life, it is a sign of possible health problems — from hormonal imbalance to oncology. ## Walking around without a bra is not good for your health Not wearing a bra can affect the shape of the breasts, especially if they are large, but it has nothing to do with health. Doctors recommend wearing a bra for no more than eight hours a day and removing it at night. ## A bra cannot harm the breasts A bra can harm the breasts if it is poorly fitted. When the bra squeezes the breasts, the blood and lymph flow are disturbed. If it doesn't support the breasts well, it can provoke sagging as well as back and neck pain. ## Breast implants increase the risk of cancer This issue has been thoroughly studied by scientists for the past 60 years since the first breast augmentation surgeries began. No evidence has been found that there is a link between implants and the appearance of malignant tumors. ## Most women are happy with their breasts According to research, only one-third of women are satisfied with the appearance of their breasts. According to studies, in most cases, their partners are satisfied with them.
