Total iron binding capacity - reflects the maximum amount of iron that can bind trasferrin. An increase in the indicator may indicate an iron deficiency in the body.

 latent iron binding capacity is an additional reserve of iron in the serum that trasferrin can bind. An increase in the value of both indicators may indicate latent or precise iron deficiency.
