Acne is usually associated with adolescence. That's partly true, but unfortunately, acne can appear at any age. In recent years, the number of people over the age of 25 who suffer from acne has been steadily increasing. So, why should you keep your hands off your face? ## Reason #1 You need to understand that this is greater damage to the skin than the inflammation itself. When you squeeze the skin, ===you tear it and traumatize the surface vessels. You will end up with a longer healing time and, worst of all, the risk of post-acne (scarring and hyperpigmentation) will increase. You can drive the pus and bacteria deeper under the skin, and they will spill over to the neighboring pores. As a result, you will have multiple pimples instead of just one. ## Reason #4 All small capillaries belong to the facial artery, which is connected in the nasal area with the eye artery (a branch of the carotid artery). Squeezing pimples, especially in the area of the nasolabial triangle, can result in infection that can reach the brain and potentially be fatal. Although the probability is low, it is another reason to avoid squeezing pimples. ## Advice from a cosmetologist Without the right treatment and care, the situation will only worsen. It takes three to seven days for the pimple to heal by itself. By squeezing it out, you prolong this time to two weeks. The most important tip that will prevent the appearance of scars is that the shorter the time of inflammation and the less you traumatize the skin by squeezing, the lighter the post-acne marks will be.
